History

The story of Sucor reflects the story of Indonesia’s capital market. Between 1977 to 1987, the Indonesian capital market experienced a period of stagnancy. Only in early 1987, when the government deregulated its capital market and opened permits for foreign investors to invest in Indonesia in 1989 was there a rejuvenation of the stock exchange. That year, 37 companies went public and listed on the Jakarta Stock Exchange. This was also the year Lindrawati Widjojo founded Sucor Sekuritas from her home in Surabaya.

As Indonesia's capital market flourished, so did Sucor. The government's introduction of the Jakarta Automated Trading System in 1995 prompted Sucor to relocate its headquarters to Jakarta in 1996 and joined the Jakarta Stock Exchange.

Gani Asset Management emerged as a subsidiary of Sucor Sekuritas in 1997. As demand for asset management surged, over the years it changed its name to Sucorinvest Asset Management.

In 2018, Sucorinvest Asset Management spun off from its former parent company, PT Sucor Sekuritas. This spin-off transformed Sucorinvest Asset Management into a sister company of PT Sucor Sekuritas and marked a shift toward greater independence—particularly in investment management and marketing—as it continued its journey to become a key player in Indonesia’s capital market.
